Love Situation Spread

A five-card look at a romantic or relational situation you are in, with emphasis on your side of the street.

What this spread is

This love situation spread is designed for people who want to think, not to spy. It maps the climate of a connection, your contribution, a challenge, a resource, and a wise next attitude. It will not tell you whether someone secretly loves you. Other people's inner lives are theirs.

Number of cards

This layout uses 5 cards.

When to use it

Use it when you are already in a situation—talking to someone, partnered, or deciding how you want to show up. If you are in danger, skip tarot and use safety resources. Cards are not a safety plan.

Card positions

1
The climate

The general weather of the connection as you can observe it.

2
You in it

Your attitude, hope, or habit.

3
The tangle

A friction, fear, or mismatch to name.

4
A resource

A strength, person, or practice that can help.

5
A wise next step

An approach for you. Not a command to the other person.

How to perform the reading

Write what you know as facts first: last conversation, agreements, doubts. Then shuffle. Read the spread as a staff meeting about your behavior. If a court card appears, consider a role or a style rather than assigning it as a specific human without evidence.

Example interpretation

Climate: Four of Cups. You: Page of Cups. Tangle: Seven of Swords. Resource: Two of Cups. Next step: Queen of Swords. A careful reading: the weather is disengaged; you are offering sincerity; something is not being said; mutuality is still possible as a value; the next step is clear language. That is a prompt to ask a direct question, not a verdict that anyone is a liar.

Reflection questions

  • What do I know without the cards?
  • Where am I asking tarot to do a conversation I am avoiding?
  • What would respect look like even if the answer is no?

FAQ

No. It can help you understand your side of a connection. Asking about someone else's private feelings as if cards were surveillance is a common mistake.

You can journal your own grief. Using spreads to monitor someone who asked for space is not respectful practice.
